State Of The Nation Press Conference By Pastor ‘Tunde Bakare
Date: October 10, 2010 Time: 10:00 am
THEME: THE MAKING OF A GREAT NATION
Fellow citizens of our great country,
Exactly one year ago today, on the 10th of October, 2009, at the National Christian Centre in Abuja, we blew the Trumpet of Jubilee over our nation, Nigeria.
Since then, a lot has happened in our nation that threatened our strange federation and the unity of our country. We did warn then that, in line with the Word of God, we must consecrate the 50th year before we celebrate it. We emphasized the need to consecrate so that we certainly celebrate. Obviously, our nation at that time and even now lay and lies in the grip of those described in the words of the Psalmist as contained in Psalm 58:3-5:
3) “The wicked are estranged from the womb: They go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.
4) Their poison is like the poison of a serpent; They are like the deaf cobra that stops its ear,
5) Which will not heed the voice of charmers, charming ever so skillfully.”
Leadership in Nigeria, like the deaf cobra that stops its ear, has continually turned deaf ears to the prophetic word. And now those who have sown wind are busy reaping whirlwinds.
Since October 10, 2009, we have lost a President, and in the midst of utter confusion and perplexity, we have sworn in his deputy who now as President seems to prefer profligacy to prudence. The billions of Naira spent on the Golden Jubilee celebration of our independence met with the bomb blast that claimed the lives of the innocent and injured many others. While we do not endorse the dastardly act, it reminds one of the biblical handwriting on the wall while a profligate king was throwing a party and drinking with his wives and concubines. As the handwriting appeared on the wall, the party became confused and the jubilating king developed an embarrassing bout of diarrhea. As usual, he first sought help from magicians to read the handwriting on the wall. By the time an interpreter came, the king soon expired with his party and, the rest, as they say, is history, as other kings stepped in.
Today, Nigeria is in the throes of confusion; “politricks” is heating up the polity and there are calls of resignation from the camp of those who perceive that their grip over the nation is about to be broken as one un-presidential act follows another in an unprecedented manner. If Nigerians do not rise up with one accord to rescue their nation from these present handlers, there may be no Nigeria by 2014 when we celebrate the centenary of Lord Lugard’s amalgamation that took place in 1914.
In order to avert this embarrassing situation – this inglorious march into the precipice of national decline and disintegration – Nigerians from all walks of life must rise with courage and determination to sack our purposeless and clueless undertakers from the seat of power. IT IS TIME TO TAKE OVER.
The assignment is daunting but it is doable. In spite of the recklessness and discouraging tactics of political jobbers, it is time to rise up and build.
THE WAY FORWARD & HOW TO BUILD & LEAD IN THE MIDST OF STORMS.
- We must not underestimate the magnitude of the decay.
- We must not underestimate the treacherousness of the adversary and their tactics.
- We must determine to re-build our broken down walls in the midst of threats, insults and ridicule from the class we are putting out of business.
Please turn your Bible with me to Nehemiah 4:
i) The magnitude of the decay – Nehemiah 4:10: There is so much rubbish going on at the villa and in the state houses.
ii) The treacherousness and tactics of the adversary:
a) Nehemiah 2:19 & 20 – They will laugh at us and despise us.
b) Nehemiah 4:1 – They will become furious and indignant alongside their mockery.
c) Nehemiah 4:8 – They will conspire to attack us and create confusion.
What should be our response to all these?:
d) Nehemiah 4:9
e) If we stay focused and do not despair, they will eventually call for a meeting in the open or send their secret informers and infiltrators to our midst. Nehemiah 6:1-16.
OUR OWN 52 DAYS ASSIGNMENT
In less than two (2) months from today, which is by the 10th of December latest, the Save Nigeria Group and its allies would have become not just a force to reckon with but a potent force to beat. We are building to win because we are destined to win.
ROAD MAP TO OUR NATIONAL RECOVERY, RECONSTRUCTION & RESTORATION
The codename of our Revolution is N:6-16.
The name Nehemiah means consolation.
i) Accurate Survey: Nehemiah 2:11-18
In order to effectively plan the future, we must assess the past and evaluate the present.
The accurate interpretation of the visions of December 23rd, 2009 and January 2nd, 2010 – the visions of the conjoined twins & the two sisters – is as follows: The two visions relate to the same country, Nigeria. They relate to the past and the future. (See Genesis 4:25 & 32).
The Past: Nigeria ceased to be a Federation since May 24, 1966.
The Future: The Surgery – A restructured Nigeria, a Federation built on trustful give and take.
POLITICAL PARTIES, THEIR ASPIRANTS & SCORE CARDS
3. LABOUR PARTY
& 4 OTHERS - ANPP, APGA, NTP, SDMP
Today, the ruling party – the PDP – has ruined this nation in the past 12 years (nearly). The other parties are mislabeled “opposition”. That is the deception of the ruling class. There are no opposition parties in a Presidential System of government, only in a Parliamentary System of government. In the Nigerian situation, you cannot even classify them as the Conservatives and Progressives. There are only winners and losers.
Another grave deception is the current emphasis on generational shift. What Nigeria needs is LEADERSHIFT, and that involves the coming together of the best of the generations. We call that GENERATIONAL INTEGRATION.
WHAT IS OUR GAME PLAN?: THE WINNING FORMULA
3 Quick steps:
- Ezekiel 36:1-8: The Redemption of the land and the people.
- Ezekiel 37:1-14: A CRITICAL MASS of an Awakened Citizenry.
- Ezekiel 37:15-22.
The best of the North and the best of the South are coming together. And they will both become one nation under God led by God-fearing leaders.
Watch out for the:
i) Sanballats in the polity. (Bramble bush enemies in secret – political jobbers).
Watch out for the:
ii) Tobiahs – (The Lord is good). The “Praise the Lord and Pass the Butter” and “In Cash We Trust” generation.
Watch out for the:
iii) Geshems or Gashum – ethnic jingoists who cause tempests and commotion.
My fellow citizens, rise up and build. It is time to rebuild, recover and restore the past glory of our nation. Nigeria will be Saved, Nigeria will be Changed, and Nigeria will be Great.
GOD BLESS THE NEW NATION THAT IS COMING OUT OF THE RUBBLE OF THE PAST. GOD BLESS NIGERIA.
